World Learning seeks an Education Specialist for a US Dept of Labor “Combating Exploitative Child Labor through Education” project in Indonesia. Duration: 3 to 4 years. Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply. Recruitment contingent upon successful award of the project.

Background
The project will seek to sustainably withdraw and prevent children from entering exploitative labor through the provision of direct educational services and other project interventions, and ensure direct beneficiairies’ enrollment, retention, and completion of the education and/or training program(s) in which they are enrolled. The project will also seek to build capacity to eliminate exploitative child labor and promote educational alternatives for children.

Education Specialist
The Education Specialist will provide leadership in developing the technical aspect of this project in collaboration with the Project Director. S/he must have at least three years experience in basic education projects in developing countries in areas including student assessment, teacher training, educational materials development, educational management, and educational monitoring and information systems. This person must have experience in working successfully with ministries of education, networks of educators, employers’ organizations and trade union representatives or comparable entities. Additional experience with exploitative child labor/education policy and monitoring and evaluation is an asset. Fluency in English and Indonesian is required.
